Omaha Winterfest

Get ready for the largest figure skating competition in Nebraska!


The Omaha Winter Festival is an annual Excel Series competition held in February at McLean Arena. The event draws more than 200 skaters from 20 clubs across the Midwest, with U.S. Figure Skating judges traveling nationwide to officiate. Events range from Basic Skills to Senior and Adult levels, featuring free skating, compulsory, spins, jumps, and showcase. Free admission for spectators!

Michigan Showcase

Michigan Showcase is hosted yearly by Ice House Skating Academy and has grown exponentially since its inception in 2010, as the Showcase and Theatre On Ice discipline continues to draw skaters who seek to combine their creative side with their athleticism.


From the US Figure Skating website: “Showcase fuses artistic creativity with figure skating for single skaters, duets, small ensembles of three to seven and production numbers of eight to thirty.”


Michigan Showcase serves as a qualifier for National Showcase.

Skate Kansas City

Skate Kansas City is a part of the Excel Series and will offer all Excel levels.


Skaters must register through EMS to participate in the Excel Series prior to competition at designated competitions in order to have their points recorded and seen in standings.

Cornhusker State Games

The 2026 Capital City Figure Skating Competition will be the official qualifier for the 2026 State Games of America. The top three medalists in each event will automatically qualify to register for and compete in the State Games of America regardless of the event type they medaled in.


This competition is open to all residents of Nebraska, Wyoming, and South Dakota. Open to all skaters, including United States Figure Skating (USFS) members (including Learn To Skate members), Ice Skating Institute (ISI) members, and skaters not affiliated with any club.

National Showcase

National Showcase is a competition filled with inspiration, and skaters who qualify are strongly encouraged to participate. Qualification requirements vary; check the Showcase Guidelines posted annually within Members Only for the most up to date information.
